2010 Climb for CODE Team Members Receive Lexpert Zenith Award

Climb for CODEMembers of a team who climbed Mount Kilimanjaro last year to raise funds for CODE were recently recognized by their peers for their outstanding contribution to making the world a better place.

Lawyers Sean Weir, Christopher D. Bredt, William D.T. Carter, Michael C. Smith and Shelley Munro are the winners of the 2011 Lexpert Zenith Award in the Manager Partner Contribution to Corporate Social Responsibility category.

On July 12th 2010, this group and the rest of their team, which also included a West Coast gallery owner, a retired private investigator and a CIDA employee and mother of four, reached the 5,895-metre high summit of Kilimanjaro in Tanzania as part of the 2010 Climb for CODE. Through their adventure, they raised over $185,000 for CODE.

The Lexpert Zenith Awards honour leading Canadian law firms, in-house departments and law students who are committing their time, skills and mentorship to corporate and law firm social responsibility.

The winners received their award during a gala event held at the Fairmont Royal York hotel in Toronto on September 21, 2011.
