Statement on the Ongoing Violence in Mozambique

CODE is shocked and deeply saddened by the ongoing attacks and violence in Cabo Delgado, a northern province in Mozambique.

The attacks have triggered a humanitarian crisis with more than 300,000 internally displaced people and 712,000 in need of humanitarian assistance, according to a recent Amnesty International report.

We condemn these acts of violence in the strongest terms. The very lives of children and their families are at risk.

Our deepest sympathies go out to those affected by these horrific incidents, and to the families of those who were killed or wounded.
