Family Literacy Fun Over the Airwaves

Students and their families across Sierra Leone and Liberia are now tuning into educational radio programming during COVID-19 thanks to two Canadian NGOs.

CODE has teamed up with Farm Radio International to help ensure reading and literacy don’t get left behind while children are out of school. The WE-CARE Foundation in Liberia, and The Association of Language and Literacy Educators in Sierra Leone, have delivered the accompanying anthologies to individual households so that families can read along with the programs.

WHERE YOUR MONEY GOES

Thanks to the generosity of a private foundation, your donations are not directed to fundraising costs. As a result, we’re able to allocate 95% of donations toward our programs to promote children’s literacy.
