CODE Board Director Brenda Okorogba Appointed to the Order of Canada

CODE is proud to congratulate Board Director Brenda Okorogba on her appointment to the Order of Canada, one of the country’s highest civilian honours. This prestigious distinction recognizes outstanding achievement, dedication to community, and service to Canada.

Brenda is being honoured for her more than decade-long commitment to advancing equitable access to education and economic opportunity. Throughout her career, she has partnered with governments, non-profits, and global institutions to design equity-centred learning initiatives, strengthen community capacity, and unlock opportunity for equity-deserving communities, including mobilizing millions of dollars in scholarships and grants to support learners and emerging leaders.

In parallel, Brenda’s strategic advisory roles and board leadership with multiple Canadian organizations, including CODE, reflect her deep commitment to social innovation and community impact.

“Brenda’s appointment to the Order of Canada is a richly deserved recognition of her vision, leadership, and unwavering commitment to social impact,” said Nathalie O’Neil, Chair of the Board of Directors at CODE. “She leads with both heart and intellect, and her contributions continue to inspire our organization and the broader development community. We are honoured to work alongside her.”
