CODE, along with the Alberta Teachers Association (ATA), are pleased to announce the winners from our recent video contest.
We asked ATA members to create short videos (up to 60 seconds long) sharing the name of the book they most love reading to/with their students and why.
We would like to thank all the participants for entering the contest. We were blown away with your creativity.
Here are the results:
First place – Derek Hall – He will be off on a rail adventure with a $1,500 gift certificate generously donated by VIA Rail.
Second place – Brian Skinner – He won a $250 gift certificate generously donated by VIA Rail.
Third place – Bridget Quirk – She’s going to hit the slopes with lift tickets for two days for two people at Marmot Basin in Jasper, Alberta.
Here are the top 3 book suggestions:
- “The Chrysalids” by John Wyndham.
- “The Cay” by Theodore Taylor . Brian also mentioned creating accordion books for students to use as journals.
- “Dear Mr. Henshaw” by Beverly Cleary.
