There are many ways to do it. Have a look below to learn about how you can help us out now!
Change a child’s life by donating your birthday.
Want to make this year’s birthday more meaningful? Instead of gifts, ask friends and family to honour your commitment to global literacy and education by making a donation to CODE.
In many of the smaller communities where CODE works, the local school or community library is the only place where children and adults can find books and other reading materials. You can help CODE support libraries in Africa, by adopting a school or community libraries. Start your own fundraising page, and challenge your family, colleagues, or your school or youth group to provide an entire community with a place to learn. Whether you make a one-time donation or run a series of fundraisers, for just $2500, CODE can provide library furniture, shelves full of books, and professional training for library staff.
CODE on Campus is a network of university and college students committed to taking simple effective steps to improve literacy rates around the world. These clubs are set up on Canadian university and college campuses, and members organize awareness-raising, advocacy, and fundraising initiatives on our behalf. By sharing information about CODE, our programs, and global literacy issues, CODE on Campus groups help create a new generation of literacy advocates.
Anyone can organize events to raise money to support CODE programs. Individuals, school groups, and community organizations across the country are running book drives, bake sales, craft fairs, and more – all in support of global literacy. To get more information or ideas, please contact our Fund Relations Officer at 1 800 661-2633, ext. 245.
From time to time, we all need a little help from our friends. If you have a few spare hours to help in the CODE office, please let us know. We may delegate various tasks from the simple but necessary stuffing of envelopes to data entry, to program research.
CODE career opportunities and more intensive Expert Volunteer roles will be posted on our Careers page, when available.
