REMEMBERING ROBERT DYCK: A VISIONARY WHO LIFTED OTHERS

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Robert (Bob) Dyck, a visionary whose belief in the power of literacy helped shape CODE from its earliest days. Bob’s warmth, leadership, entrepreneurial spirit, and unwavering commitment to literacy created a foundation that continues to transform lives today.

As CODE’s longtime Executive Director, Bob’s innovative thinking led him to establish the social enterprise, CODE Inc. (1987), and later the CODE Foundation (1992) to invest business earnings in support of CODE’s mission for the long term.

The legacy of his enterprising approach continues to serve CODE well today. As his daughter Christina reminds us, he lived by the philosophy: “If you can have an amazing life, take others with you.” Today, we remain grateful for the entrepreneurial spirit he embedded in our DNA and for his reminder that when we lift each other up, extraordinary things become possible. We will continue to honour Bob’s legacy in every story
